The funniest RE.net blog post for 2007 - Nominations are open
I can’t imagine doing a weekly blogging contest myself, and really don’t want to wait my turn at the carnival. So I’m creating a contest of my own. The first annual Funniest RE.net blog post for 2007. Here are the rules.
- The post has to be from an RE.net blogger.
- The post has to be funny
Nominations are now open. I will will pick a short list (bribes will be excepted), and a three judge panel will elect a winner. Anybody want to be a judge? Nomination deadline is 12:01 AM Mountain Time on Dec 27th. The winner will be announced at 12:01 AM on Jan 1, and wins nothing!
Here are a few that I have nominated so far.
The honer is all mine! - Kris Berg
Ten Marketing Tips You Can Learn From A Prostitute - Joe & Rudy (I’m not sure which)
Fixing The Agent Headshot Of Death - Athol Kay
Mademoiselle? Oui. La Spinster?…ZUT! - Geno Petro
Please don’t judge me by my page rank - Teresa Boardman
Top 5 Reasons Why You Wouldn’t Hire a Penguin as Your Next Realtor® - Mariana Wagner
Collegiate Cliques on RE.net - Yes, I nominated my own post. It was damn funny.
The Bubble Gum Interviews - Lani Anglin - I nominate the whole series. Sort of like a lifetime achievement award or something.
Nominate your own posts, or the posts of others in the comments section. There’s no limit on the number of posts from any one blogger that can be nominated. Email me if you want to me a judge. Finally, please spread the word about the contest. I could use a good laugh, so the more posts to choose from the better.

In an act of shameless self-promotion, I’ll nominate my own post: What I’ve Learned in Two Weeks of Real Estate Brokers Classes
Now I’m off to read more Kris Berg and try to cull that down into a hal-dozen or so.
December 17th, 2007 at 11:04 am
I apologize in advance as I too will provide you with my shameless self promotion of 2 of my best 2007 posts. Check them all out as I actually think you all will find them quite funny.
Listed below in no particular order:
1. Pay Your Rent Now or Face The Wrath Of…
2. Code Dread?
(Be sure to read and zoom-in on the chart)

Todd - if you still need a judge I’d love to help.
And I’d like to nominate Athol’s Do These Jeans Make My A$$ Look Fat?
December 17th, 2007 at 3:45 pm
So far, Dan Green and Chris Lengquist make up two out of three judges for the panel. Anyone else?
Here’s two more from Kris who proves she is better at writing than reading instructions by emailing me her nominations instead of posting them here.

I’ll judge. I’m pretty good at finding humor since I was laughed at all throughout my childhood…I don’t think it was for me being funny though. Either way, I’m in if you need it!

I’m throwing in these Zillow Selltoons so no one forgets how funny those zestimates can be.

Thanks though

I’d be a judge, but I would only vote for myself…
I have already sent out threatening emails to people stating that I must win- of all the blog awards out there, I only want to win THIS one!!!
It’s for the children, y’all… for the children!

Suspicious that any new volunteer would be a plant from one of the competing bloggers
, I went out and found a third judge on my own.
Nicole Nicolay rounds out the three judge panel.

OK, so I have some more of mine that won’t make my shortlist, but I thought I’d share them anyway. The whole point of the contest is to laugh a little.
Bryan & Yvonne Carpenter - trust me, read between the lines and look at the links.
It Be Talk Like A Pirate Day
A local report on home values - My closing guest post on Inman
I don’t want to be a zombie so stop throwing sheep at me - My appraisal of Facebook
Endorsed by Teresa Boardman - I only cared if one person thought this was funny, and she did.
And finally, all I did was link to this, but it was my favorite “Silly Friday” post of the year.

I would like to point out that Lani acutally IS sending out threatening emails. I’ve turned them over to the FBI.
